nami wakes and straightens her sleeping furs, she walks to the wash basin and washes her face.
she quickly walks through the chilly halls in the HS and to the hearth where she takes some
small peices of wood and places them in the hearth to look like a small tepee, she then lights
the small peices of wood watching the little flame start to burn, she adds some more small
peices of wood until she has a sturdy flame. then she adds some larger logs to the fire.
while waiting for the fire to heat up the HS she takes a small kettle and walks to the water
barrel and ladels out water into the kettle until it is three fourths full and then taking
the now heavy kettle she places it upon one of the hooks in the hearth. then she walks to the
servery shelves and looking around she picks up a basket to carry things that she will need.
she picks up some clean repcloths and places all of them but one into the basket. the one she
kept she opens up in her hand and opening a jar takes a small scoop and scoops out some of the
contents within placing the contents of the scoop into the repcloth in her hand. she ties it
tightly and sets it into the basket. she then lifts a small container of salt and places it
into her basket, she also lift up takes up a clean large bowl and opening the container of flour she
measures some into the bowl and then carefully makes sure that the container lid is put back
on tightly. then she places some onions and garlic into the basket along with a few other
spices, she then carefully lifts down the mug that she is allowed to use and places it in
the basket with the other items and carries all of these to the counter and places the basket
safely upon it. she then walks to the chillery and braces herself for the chill blast of air and
quickly tugs hard upon the door opening it and walking into the cold room, looking around she
spys what she is looking for lifting basket from beside the doorway she places in it some
packages of vulo and then tucking them safely as to not be broken some vulo eggs, she then
takes some carrots that she had cut and stored earlier and then she searches where the fruit is
kept and she takes a pineapple and some pears, oranges, grapes, and apples and places these
in her basket. Last she picks up a pitcher of bosk milk and holding the basket tightly against
her she leaves the chillery, closing the door tightly she then pads to the counter and places
the basket upon it with the other and places the pitcher of milk there as well. Reaching under
the counter she lifts up another kettle and two large bowls, placing them on the counteras well.
she then lifts the tied up repcloth that is full of blackwine beans and takes it to the kettle
and she drops it in carefully, inhaling the strong aroma of the brew, she pads back to the
counter and starts to work, first she lifting 2 of the eggs busts them into one of the large
bowls and then measures out a small spoon of salt and a large amount of flour into the bowl
with the eggs, she adds a measure of milk and some oil and mixes this into a thick dough
adding flour until it is very very stiff, she then kneads it until it is as stiff as it can
get and she covers it to rise while she is preparing other things. she takes the vulo's and
places them into the big kettle that she placed on the counter and she takes the kettle to the
water barrel and adds water til it is three forths full and brings it back to the counter.
she then places some of the carrots from the bowl in the kettle and she quickly rinses and
chops the onion and places it in and then peeling some of the garlic tosses it into the kettle
as well. she then lifts the cloth covering the dough and spreading flour all over the counter
she takes a rolling stick from under the counter and a large cutting knife and rolls out the
dough until it is very thin... she then cuts it into one inch strips and carefully places these
strips into the kettle with the vulos she then adds salt to the kettle and takes it to the
hearth and places it upon one of the hooks so it can slowly cook for Master's and Mistress'
dinner. With all this done she then takes the fruit and rinses it and cuts it into cubes.
Placing all of it in one large bowl that she takes to the chillery and quickly entering, she
places the mixed fruit and the pitcher of milk back as well as the eggs that she did not need.
Smiling as all is well and done she then shuts the chillery door and walks to the counter
taking up the mug and walks over to the hearth to fill it with blackwine and sits to relax for
a few moments before she heads outside.
