rising from her furs, nami pads over to wash her face and hands and to dress herself for the days work. putting on a work dress quickly she pads through the HS quickly noticing that the dishes from last night have already been cleared, she smiles and decides that this day she will do the wash. she walks silently through the HS to Masters rooms, noticing that He is already gone for the day. nami walks over to His bed and strips the furs from the bed, she then looks around the room and picks up the clothes that Master needs washed as well, she carries these to the doorway and places them into a pile, she then moves to the windows and stretching up onto her tiptoes she tugs down the heavy drapes for cleaning and leaves the window open wide to allow fresh air to permeate the room. with this done she then moves to the chambers of her lovely Mistress and taking care to leave nothing behind she strips her bed of furs and retrieves the pile of clothes that Mistress needs to be washed, as well and then once those are in a pile by the doorway she returns into the room and repeats taking the heavy drapes from the windows, leaving the window open wide, she adds the drapes to her pile of furs by the door. now that Master and Mistress's rooms are done, nami moves to the other rooms of the HS and repeats removing the furs and drapes from all of the guest chambers and slave quarters thinking quietly to herself that even if everyone wonders what happened to the furs and drapes and clothes that the house will smell good of fresh air, she giggles slightly under her breath and picks up a large basket from her kennel, the last room that she strips of furs, and retraces her steps through the Home, retrieving her piles of furs and clothes and drapes from beside the doorways of all the sleeping chambers. Carrying the now full, heavy basket with her, she walks into the servery and takes a small container of soapflake and places it on top of the pile of clothes she carries. nami then walks outside to the stream. she looks around to find a smooth stone that she can use, and she quickly finds one near a boulder that will come in handy as well. she moves her basket over by the boulder that is in the water and sets it upon the ground, she takes the container of soapflake and places it upon the edge of the boulder just so it wont fall to the ground and spill, this done she takes one of the heavy bed furs from the basket and pushes it deeply into the stream, she holds it there letting the clear, cold water rinse any loose dust from the fur. nami then lifts the heavy wet fur up and spreads it across the boulder, reaching over it she takes some of the soapflake from the container and sprinkles it over the wet fur, she then lifts the small smooth rock that she found and starts rubbing the soapflake into the wet fur.
she watches it as it starts to sud up and make bubbles on the fur, when she has soaped every part of the fur and scrubbed it with the smooth rock she sets the rock to the side and lifts the fur from the boulder and places it back in the water, holding it deep, allowing the cold, fast moving water to rinse the fur free of all soap, she then pulls the clean, wet fur from the water and moving up a few steps on the dry sweet grass by the stream she lays the heavy fur down and spreads it out to dry in the sun. this she repeats with each peice of clothing, each fur, and each drape that is in her basket. once they are all washed and placed upon the sweet, dry grass to dry slowly in the sun, she moves back with her empty basket toward the homestone servery. walking inside she moves to the shelf area where the bins for fruits and spices and baking needs are kept, looking into the different bins she finds the one that holds the oranges that Master picked up last time He was at market. smiling she places some of the oranges into her basket and then looking into the other bins takes some grapes, and some hard larma, apples, and peaches placing these into her basket as well, she then walks over to the counter and places her basket upon it and reaching beneath the counter she takes a medium sized bowl and a medium kettle and places these upon the counter, she then opens a drawer and takes out a cooking knife, placing that on the counter she then peels the fruit and places the peelings into the washbasin. she then slices the fruits into small cubes and places these into the bowl, mixing them well, and then covering them tightly with a lid and setting the bowl to the side. she then turns to the washbasin and takes the peeling of the oranges and cuts them into small strips, placing them into the kettle. once this is done she carries the kettle to the hearth and ladles out warm water from the heating cauldron and pours it into the kettle of orange peels, just enough to cover the peels. this she places on a hook in the hearth to boil the juices and oils from the peels. while this is heating she moves to pick up the bowl of mixed fruit and takes it to the chillery room and places it at the front shelves just inside the door so that it can chill and be cold for dinner tonight. moving to the basin she cleans the rest of the fruit peel away into the bucket for the scraps to be fed to the sleens. she then moves to the servery and collects the mop, broom, some repcloths, and two pails. these nami carries to the counter, placing them there. she takes one of the pails over to the water barrel and fills it with cool, clear water, returning to the counter with it, she then pours half of the pail of cool water into the other pail as well. she then walks over to the hearth, making sure to have a repcloth with her and wrapping it around her hand lifts the kettle with the orange peels off the hook and carries it to the counter, where she pours half of the orange scented water into each of the pails she places the kettle in the basin and washes it out quickly and dries it and places it back beneath the counter. she then takes a repcloth and puts it into one of the pails of water and lifts it in one hand and taking the broom and mop in the other she moves to Masters room. Once there she sets the broom and mop down and takes the pail and starts dusting all of the furnature and wall hangings in the room scrubbing any traces of dust or dirt from them, she leaves the broom and mop there and moves to each of the other bedroom chambers taking care to dust everything within each room, all tables, pictures, hooks, chains, anything that could possibly need dusting. nami then carries the pail back to Masters chambers and sets it upon the floor beside the door. nami takes up the broom and sweeps any dust from the floor taking special care in the corners, until there is no dust left in the room. she then puts the broom beside the door and takes the mop in her hands and getting it wet with orange-scented water she mops the floor to a gleaming shine from the far window, again taking special care in all of the corners, to the doorway where she finishes. smiling as she sees that Masters room is done she takes the pail, mop, and broom into her hands and one by one goes to each of the sleeping chambers and scrubs the floors to clean shining with the broom and mop. once all of the sleeping chambers are done she takes the cleaning stuff to the servery, placing the broom and mop by the counter and taking the pail and emptying it outside, she ladles out some of the water from the rainbarrel and rinses the pail clean, dries it, then places it back in with the stack of other pails. nami then pads to the counter and taking the other pail of orange water goes to the main hall and repeats her dusting, room by room, the main hall, the armory, and the servery, making sure that all is clean. she then takes the broom and mop again and sweeps the rooms that she just dusted, taking care in the corners, making sure that there is not any dust or dirt upon the tiles of the floor. she then takes the mop and finishes her cleaning, mopping each room until it gleams. smiling as she finishes seeing that all has been done and not any dust remains in the HS, she takes the pail and empties it, quickly rinsing it and drying it and then placing it back with the others. nami then places the mop outside to dry in the fresh air, and places the broom back in the little nook beside the shelf area. while the floors dry nami walks to the shed outside the house and looking around finds the baskets and takes one, she then moves to the gardens and picks some peas, and some potatoes. she then walking back toward the house, stops by the roses and picks some to put in the house.
