Opening her eyes to the early morning light, play rises and walks to the stand holding the
wash basin in her kennel. She washes her face and her hands and then she turns and walks
through the home she loves so dearly. She looks around and sees the serving utensils that
were used the night before and picks them up and carries them to the servery. Quickly she
deposits them on the counter and walks over to the hearth and places kindling in it and
starts a fire...smiling as she sees the flame rising she adds wood from the woodbox by the
hearth. As the fire starts to burn she walks lifts a large cauldron type kettle from its
hook in the hearth and walks outside to the barrel just outside of the doorway, to the
barrel that holds water and ladels water into the cauldron filling it to just below the rim.
Carefully she carries the heavy cauldron the few steps back to the hearth and lifts it back
to the hook over the fire so it can heat. She then goes back outside and grabs a pail from
beside the water barrel, then she walks back and fourth to the stream behind the Homestone,
numerous times until the water barrel is again full to the rim. Walking over to the vegetable
garden, play looks around and decides to get some fresh onions and garlic, she picks these
and then picks some tomatoes and peas. Walking back inside the servery she places the foods
on the counter and walks over to the warming water on the hearth and lifting a small kettle,
she ladels some of the warm water into the kettle and hangs it on another smaller hook to
heat. She then walks to the shelving area and looking around she takes a clean repcloth and
dips some black wine beans out of their container and places them into the repcloth and
ties it securely, so that none can spill out. She pads back over to the hearth and places
the full repcloth into the small kettle, inhaling deeply the rich aroma that bursts fourth.
Picking up another small pail, play fills it to just below the rim and carries it to the dish
basin and pours the water into the basin, adding a small amount of soap flake from the jar
on the counter that holds them. Watching the bubbles appear in the warm water she then
places the serving utensils and other dishes into the warm soapy water and washes them
thoroughly, leaving not a spot upon them. She empties the water from the basin and walks to
the water barrel and ladels out a small pail of the cool water and takes it back to the
basin and pouring it over the dishes, rinses them clear of any soap. She then dries the
dishes, stacking them carefully and takes them to the servery shelves and places them in
their correct places. She walks back to the counter and places the vegetables that she
picked into the basin and walking to the water barrel she again fills the small pail, and
returns to the basin, pouring the water over the veggies and rinsing them completely clear
of any soil. Reaching below the counter, play picks up a sharp butcher knife and carefully
she slices the onions and the garlic, into paper thin slices. She sets these on the counter
to the side as she then starts shelling the peas into a bowl. This done she goes again to
the water barrel and fills the small pail and taking it inside to the basin she again washes
the peas carefully. Reaching under the counter she lifts a kettle and places the rinsed peas
into it and carries it to the hearth and ladels some of the heated water from the cauldron
into the small kettle of peas, this she hangs on another small hook so that they may cook
all day and be ready for Masters dinner this eve. Then going outside she again lifts the pail
to walk to the stream and get more of the fresh clear water to fill the barrel and once
that is done, she fills the small pail one last time and carries it into the servery and
places it upon the counter. She walks to the chillery and braces herself, feeling the chill
blast of air upon her skin as she tugs the door open. Looking around she decides on making
bosk steaks for dinner and reaching up high, she grabs a large package of them from the back
of the chillery where it is the coldest. She pads toward the front of the chillery and lifts
a jug that is full of bosk milk and walks to the counter placing these upon it, she then
returns quickly to the chillery and looks around where the fruits are kept and finds what she
is looking for. Lifting the fruits that she needs she turns and walks from the chillery and
bumps the door closed with her hip, hearing it click closed. She walks to the counter and
places the fruits there and then walks to the servery shelves and grabs some honey and some
sa-tarna flour and a few other spices and returns to the counter. Taking two large baking pans
from beneath the counter she places the steaks in one and adds three-fourths of the onion
and garlic that she sliced earlier, she then adds some of the other spices that she brought
from the servery shelves and pours the pan about one-fourth full of milk. She then places a
lid tightly upon the baking pan and sets it to the side. Reaching beneath the counter again
she lifts a mixing bowl and places it upon the counter and puts the sa-tarna flour in the
bowl, then she adds the rest of the onions and garlic to this, she adds some salt and a
few other spices and then mixes it all with bosk milk, she then pours the mixture into the
other baking pan and seals it tightly with a lid as well. She then carries the steaks and the
bread dough to the hearth, she places each of them on a seperate shelf that was made into
the hearth, so that they may bake all day to be ready in time for Master's dinner. She
walks back to the counter and pouring some of the water from the pail on the counter into the
basin she washes the utensils and bowl that she has used, cleaning them spotlessly. She then
takes the bowl and sets it upon the counter and slices the strawberries and bananas that she
brought from the chillery into it and adds some sugar from the sugar bowl on the counter.
She then mixes this carefully with just a little of the bosk milk and then taking up the
bowl of fruit and the jug of milk, she walks back to the chillery and opens the door and
puts them on the shelves inside the doorway where it will stay cool. She then returns to the
servery shelves and looking around, she walks to the back of the shelving area and chooses
a small block of bosk cheese. She returns to the counter and taking the butcher knife that
she washed she slices the cheese into thin slices and places them on a tray. This she takes
to the chillery to keep cool, she walks back to the counter and gets a clean repcloth and
wipes everything to sparkling cleanliness again. Smiling as she looks around and sees that
all is done she gets a mug from the servery shelves and walks over to the kettle of black
wine that is now done and ladels some of the aramatic drink into her mug and takes it to
the table and sits to relax for a little while before other chores need to be done.
